Paint the Canvas Black
06:12
|
|||
down falls my former friend
by gangs and guns he lays
on the floor dead
and all the remains there
are old photographs and in
empty glass
paint the canvas black
we're in mourning; can't you see that
paint the canvas black
and all is lost
and all is heartbroken in pieces of paper falling
help me, help us we're suffering
you make some cryptic remark, marking me off
the velocity, electricity
he's lost his arm, the tips of his fingers
and the flowers, the flowers from his daughter
he's dead and dying: a martyr
with the blade in hand, caked with blood
with the rampant horse and a smoking gun
the vows we made: until death do us part

Gates of Ghosts
05:05
|
|||
when the town was overcome with flocks of bombs
nothing remained, save ruins of emptied homes
was as easy as breaking thimble bones
on top of old shattered skulls
and the fresh dead came, dressed in padded caskets
in business suits that remain elastic
intangible to all those who keep
the dead sleep in peace, sleep in peaceful sleep
the gravekeeper's keys, hung by a chain
rattled with ferocity and ferociously wailed
the skeleton key, the one that unlocks the most secrets
that stay within the mouths of ghosts
it was almost gone, rusted, eroded away
for nothing is safe from earthly erosion
things will always die in ungodly vain
awaiting a day where they can be saved away
the flat, black keys which sang out the melancholy song
as the hearse drove by and drove on and on
to the iron graveyard gates
which will fall apart, which protect soulless ghostly hearts
the foundations of the cathedral
build on top of shapeless cold clay
and the crumbling roof of the crypt
juts out among concrete grey graves
create the empty skyline
of the graveyard at dusk and twilight
and everything is restless at night
while the mourning doves coo at the sight
of the patterns of headstones all aligned
and every ghost is restless all the time
as the ravens and crows caw at the sight
of the rows and columns of crosses in line

Desolate Highlife
03:47
|
|||
from a city skyline, desolate highlife
empty, lonely highway roads under blacklight
your blood burned faster as you spoke to them
red blood beat faster as you spoke to them
pleading, "it wasn't me!"
but they didn't believe in you
the eve of dawn is upon you now
hanging there, face toward the glaring sun
it's your dying day
it's the day to be dead in a grave
it's the day to die
say your goodbyes

Panic
01:49
|
|||
not a soul
safe from this
everyone
everyone
run
panic makes
blood run to
the head makes
everyone
run
every act
ion that's played
back in slow
motion to
run
the
planes fly o
verhead we
hear them while
we are a
sleep
a
mother with
children tells
them to walk
back go to
sleep
they
keep on laugh
ing while they're
passing us
in the
sky
we don't know
whether to
pray or face
our death and
die

Atom Bomb
02:08
|
|||
at the top of the tower
there is a mother, a mother
and her daughter
dead daughter
near the light at the end of the tunnel
there is a man, a man
who has lost his mind
void mind
in the dark musty corner
there is a ghost, a ghost
who holds its light
faint light
although nothing survives
although nothing makes it out alive
the atom bomb strikes

Fallout
02:00
|
|||
stop trying to find your friends
focus on getting to the end
it's a labyrinth
bite your bottom lip
bleeds until it's dried out
find the distance between
the sound and the moving
separate the sand with a sieve
it's a maze
don't get discouraged
don't get discouraged
don't lose this here
this time and space isn't real
